Affirmations are sentences aimed to affect the subconscious mind. The words composing the affirmation, automatically and involuntarily, bring up related mental images into the mind. The repetition of an affirmation and the resultant mental images – affect the subconscious mind, which in turn, influences a person’s behavior, habits, actions and reactions.
Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation, which are often repeated, until they get impressed on the subconscious mind. This process pushes the subconscious mind to take action and to strive to make the positive statement come true. With using affirmation perceiving methods, you get a great tool for achieving success and for improving your life.
Most people repeat in their minds negative words and statements concerning the situations and events in their lives, and consequently, create undesirable situations. Words work at both ways, to build or destroy. It is the way we use them that determines whether they are going to bring good or harmful results.
Your subconscious mind accepts as true what you keep perceiving or saying. It attracts corresponding events and situations into your life. So why not choose only positive statements, in order to get positive results?
Repeated positive statements help you focus your mind on your aim. They also create corresponding mental images in the conscious mind, which affect the subconscious mind accordingly. In this way, you program your subconscious in accordance with your will. This process is similar to the way creative visualization works.
The conscious mind, the mind you think with, starts this process, and then the subconscious mind takes charge. By using this process consciously and intently, you influence your subconscious mind, and in turn, it transforms your habits, behavior, attitude, and reactions, and even reshapes your external life.
So how long it takes to get results? Things might happen soon, in a few days, or take few weeks or longer. This depends on your focus, faith, strength of desire and on how big or small is your goal is.
It is important to understand that listening to subliminal audio or repeating positive affirmations for a few minutes, and then thinking negatively the rest of the day, neutralizes the effects of the positive words. If you want to get positive results you have to refuse to think negative thoughts.
Subliminal messages are stimulus which is received by your subconscious mind, bypassing your conscious mind. For self-help purposes, audio messages are used where the message is a positive statement moved to a higher sound frequency to enter your unconscious mind without your awareness.
Urban Dictionary: Anything that sends you a message without your knowledge of it, usually picked up on by your subconscious mind.. [Often] a hidden message or image found in text, music or film.
Wikipedia: Literally [means] “below threshold”, are any sensory stimuli below an individual’s threshold for conscious perception. Visual stimuli may be quickly flashed before an individual can process them, or flashed and then masked, thereby interrupting the processing. Audio stimuli may be played beyond audible volumes, masked by other stimuli, or recorded backwards.
Subliminal messages are basically just positive affirmations which have been recorded and then moved to a higher sound frequency. You don’t hear the affirmations as they are at this higher sound frequency, just on the edge of the threshold of conscious human hearing. They still reach your subconscious mind though, and this is extremely important as it’s actually your subconscious mind that you need to influence in order to change either your behaviors, thoughts, feelings or, in the end – your actions.
Because they reach your subconscious and not your conscious mind, this means that you can make changes from within without your logical, conscious mind being involved. That means that your conscious mind won’t be able to interfere with the process of positive change.
As we said above, the subliminal messages operate below the level of conscious awareness and are delivered in a way to be perceived from the subconscious mind.
For example, we can take the phrase “I am confident” and embed it into a sound track where the conscious mind will not hear it clearly, so it will not have enough time to process it logically. But however, the phrase is clearly perceivable from the subconscious mind.
The constant repetition of this phrase or others helps on rewiring (creating new neural pathways) long thought patterns and one to think more positively, lose weight, have more confidence etc.
The subliminal messages technology exists for several decades. Many studies have shown that they can produce satisfying and lasting effects, from breaking unwanted habits to improving performance. This technology is successful because offers the capability to interfere the “guard” of the subconscious mind, namely the analysis and processing of the logical, conscious mind.
The subliminal messages in the subliminal audios cant be heard. This is useful because it means the messages can enter your subconscious mind by bypassing the conscious mind which tends to be analytical and critical in its thinking.
The fact that the messages can’t be heard doesn’t reduce, but increases their effectiveness. The subconscious mind can easily hear these messages and will work to process them just like audible messages. As the messages enter your mind, they must be dealt with and processed. Since the messages are about you, the information of the messages change the perception of your self and how you operate.
The more you listen to the audios, the more your mind and neurons become re-wired to accept the new thoughts and mindset as true. Eventually, the new mindsets will become so ingrained in your mind that they become a habit. This is exactly how permanent results are created from our audios.
It is a fact that all of us spend a lot of time in front of a computer and we all use a mobile phone or other mobile device constantly. Having this in mind, we can easily calculate that we look at the screens of our computers and mobile devices about several dozen times per day. Therefore, we will subconsciously notice anything that is written on our screen many times that day.
In this case, our subconscious mind will perceive the affirmation written on our screen wallpaper because our eyes will take a lot of glances right at it all through the day. By the end of the day that positive affirmation will surely get placed deep in our subconscious and that will affect our conscious mind later, which is our goal here.
Our IMW packages include 31 wallpapers of high resolution relaxing images. Every image has one positive affirmation written in its center and always visible on your PC/Mac/mobile device screen. We recommend setting one image per day (as wallpaper on your screen), so you will be using the whole package for a month (31 days). After that, of course, you can use all the images again, starting from the first one. The images generally show a nature, scenery or beautiful landscapes, or something usually related to the product’s subject. Your screen will be astonishingly beautiful every day and you will be amazed at this new way of perceiving positive affirmations.
There have been several surveys and studies that prove the effectiveness of subliminal messages technology.
- Martijn Veltkamp (PhD-student), demonstrated that you can motivate people to do things that already had the intention to do them, using visual subliminal stimuli
- According to Professor Benjamin B. Wolman, author of more than 40books on psychology, conscious thought can be influenced by stimulioutside of conscious awareness. He adds, with reference to Silverman (1967), that Freud’s study of consciousness “assumes that a subliminal input raises the activation level of existing unconscious motives”
- Dr. Norman Dixon, a psychologist at University College London, has done extensive research on subliminal learning. In his scholarly work Preconscious Processing he cites 748 references to studies on the effects of subliminal communication, with over 80% showing positive results
- Dr. Eldon Taylor, director of Progressive Awareness Research and a Fellow in the American Psychotherapy Association, firmly believes that subliminal information when presented in an appropriate manner, is processed, retained, and acted upon
- The research of Dr. H Bahador Bahrami, a neuroscientist at the University College of London, using brain scanners showed that the brain absorbs subliminal messages when not too busy
Several studies have focused on the possibility of using subliminal messages to produce specific results:
An article in the Journal of Counseling Psychology (Journal of Counseling Psychology) , reports a study by Dr. Kenneth Parker, a psychologist at Queens College in New York. Dr. Kenneth Parker conducted a study to determine whether subliminal messages can improve academic performance. Careful statistical analysis of the effects of subliminal stimulation, showed significant improvement in academic performance of students.
Two groups of overweight women participated in a course for weight loss, where one group received audio subliminalsuggestions, while the other group weren’t. The women of the group that had exposed to subliminal suggestions lostmore weight, while the difference in weight continued to increase during the follow-up .
Psychologist Dr. Lloyd H. Silverman of New York University, has studied more than 40 groups of smokers. Half of each group were exposed to subliminal audio messages, and the other half not. Within a month, 66% of people exposed tosubliminal messages stopped smoking, compared with 13% of others. This led Silverman to conclude that subliminalmessages make it four times more likely someone to be able quit someone smoking .
It is obvious the fact that subliminal messages have the potential to affect us and become part of our beliefs. They are auseful and powerful tool to change oneself. The applications can be infinite, from eliminating phobias and anxiety to increasing self-confidence, self-esteem and other mental abilities.
